Some people shop; some people raid. I am one of the latter. When I go to the store, I have a specific mission in mind. I head straight to the target, snatch it, check out and am on my way home before anyone even knows I’ve been to the store.
I am the reason store managers rearrange their goods. Each time they do that, I have to look for what I want.
There are some things I do buy in bulk: mostly TP and paper towels. You can never have too much of these items, the shelf life is measured in years and we have the space to store them.
On the other hand, I also have minimum stock levels for some goods like coffee. I have a “working can” and a “reserve can.” As soon as I have to open the second can, I buy another. I cannot afford to run out of this life-sustaining substance.
Sadly, I go to “Costclub” and watch people do what Roger did. Watched a guy take five samples while the vendor was cooking more and was away from the sample station.
Hasn’t been any Trick or Treaters in my neighborhood in at least 30 years, so I stopped buying candy ages ago. I think the lack of sidewalks and street lights might be a factor.

Too late now. All CostClub has left are Raisinettes and Sour Patch candy.

Instead of reading, maybe Andi should go with him, or even by herself.

I’m surprised they are still married. But then again, it wouldn’t be a funny comic strip if it was logical….

Money was tight in 2002? They should live in 2023.

Andy, never let Roger go to any store by himself again. But don’t let him go with Peter either.

“…money is tight these days.” This comic was written 20+ years ago. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
