Dangerous to throw chicken bones when you have a dog, no?

When I was much younger I wanted to bury a chicken after dinner so that I could dig it up and later assemble all the bones together like a puzzle.

When I was much younger the head of the cow slaughtered in the fall went to our collie, who would bury it somewhere for a week or two, then go retrieve it when it was “ripe”. A week or so later there would remain just a skull with a .32 hole between the eye sockets. Ahh, childhood on the farm!

AH, the discovery of the pteriyaki pteranodon!

They actually make “find a fossil” kits for young archeologists. You learn to painstakingly remove the fossil from the surrounding meterials.

with all the crows in this area, chicken bones wouldn’t last 5 seconds in the yard…
