If this were real, the pelican wouldn’t have had a chance with the gator. I have seen this in action.
Actually, they tend to drag their prey underwater, spin around to disorient it and Drown it.
Then, they rip pieces off whenever they get hungry.
Unless it’s small enough to swallow in one bite. Like cats, dogs and small children.
I like videos of anacondas swallowing large prey.
