I only once let someone gift me a cat. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy cats to the point that I am a “cat whisperer”. However, choosing your own cat (or being chosen) is a complex and necessary process for good bonding. Now I completely avoid kittens unless I am in the market for one. As to free cats, I practice saying “No” in a kind but firm voice.

one or two cats are relaxing. The stress-to-cat ratio is proportional.
