It all began on a day, much like this one. I had errands to run, and I mean run, since they were all within a small area, in which traffic was such as to prohibit swift movement. On foot, it required a full sixty minutes. In traffic, what with congestion, delays, detours, one-way streets, roundabouts in the worst places and the occasional traffic stop or accident, not to mention finding parking, which would doubtless require much walking anyway, it would require as much as twice that. The load limit of a vehicle is greater, of course, but judicious planning of routes and multiple excursions eliminated that as a limiting factor. There was a cat, much like yours, that sat outside my building, in a small green space designed into the building’s footprint. It was a bit darker in color, more like a pumpkin in tone. I hadn’t ever seen it before. As I set out on my first journey, it began to follow me. I thought nothing of it, at first. It wasn’t until later that it seemed odd.
The theme for the day is “For Starters…,” my Aquamarine Sweater-Boy. Does your orange kitty join in the conversation, too?
For starters, I am intrigued by the crest on your breast. Is it of a club, school, or organization to which you belong or to which you owe allegiance? Or is it just a manufacturer’s trademark (like those little crocs we used to see so often)?

…I’m not really a good conversation starter…
…how about we just chat?…
…how about them Brown’s, huh?…
…nice weather we’re having…
…so…
…what kind of music ya listen to?…
…I walk by your house at night and I notice your bedroom window is sometimes on…
…how does it feel to be the ugly sister?…
…have you ever heard of the Mormon church?…
…you look like you’d make a great forth wife…
…did you see on FOX News that that the fire was caused by putting pineapple on their pizzas?….
…I see you’re on the internet…
…ever read Frog Applause?
…some say it’s really created by wood elves…
…that were fired by Keebler…
…and by fired I mean branded…
…and their dandruff is added to the blue paint…
…oh, I’m sorry, but are you pregnant?…
…how brave of you…
…I’ve never seen leg hair pop through hosiery that much before…

Even the cat is curious. Wait, that’s redundant.
