This arc is timely, considering the recent murder of five in an Orlando gay cafe.

I love how both of them keep changing phone hands from frame to frame so their faces are always visible to the audience.

This whole thing is so weird. I always thought of Scot as pretty much a free-thinker. I’m surprised he’s so uptight about this.

The reverend is entitled to his personal feelings. Note well that he is not trying to discourage their union. It’s not like they are forcing him to bake their wedding cake. :)

This keeps getting worse and worse.

IIRC, Scot is ordained in the Episcopal Church. The EC was not the last and not the first denomination to recognize same sex unions and marriages. They were among the first to stop condemning 2SLGBTQIA+ people for just existing. They now have 2SLGBTQIA priests and bishops who are not in the closet, (some are even married to their partners.) Just about every major denomination in the USA and Canada and much of Europe does. And this strip is a re-run from 1999 an a lot has changed in the last 24 years, so lots of change since then.

How about someone who’s not a right-wing bigot?Or a severe closet case?Or both…

If we could place all of “them” somewhere that “us” could totally ignore them everybody would be happy. Of course the end result is about 8 billion separate places.
