Reciprocity is not necessarily a given.

The best proof there is a heaven I’ve heard so far is; dogs gotta go somewhere when they pass.

Nobody ever said man has to be YOUR best friend. The statement only illustrates the the loyalty and fidelity of the canine is superior to that of any of man’s other friends, such as other people, who are generally selfish, duplicitous and conniving.

Through that morning, the dream haunted me. I hadn’t much experience with domesticated animals. My parents had never allowed me to have any pets. They were too expensive, too messy, too troublesome, too noisy, and a whole list of other TOO’s. My knowledge of them was limited to popular and academic information. For instance, I knew that dogs had cold noses, and that cats carry a parasite the causes irrational behavior. And I knew that cats are never actually domesticated. They just pretend to be. Where dogs develop an interdependent relationship and a social order with their people and with other animals. I wondered for a moment if I had acquired the cat parasite that would change my behavior, that Ghandi thing, until I remembered it comes from contact with fecal matter.

Reminds me of my daughter’s two dogs, Lord Spencer Bentley-Rolls and Pope Irving II.

Although I acknowledge I’ve buttered him up pretty assiduously. You can’t blame him for his delusion.

Meanwhile diamonds are like “Wait a minute, aren’t I someone’s best friend, too?…” ;)
