I used to call my roommates teenaged kids the locusts because they didn’t leave much for the rest of us to eat. I was doing some prep cooking for my weeks supply of meals when the boy asked if he could have one, just after cleaning off a plate of after school snacks. When I said ’’No" he wanted to know why. The other roommate pointed out that my food was special because I had so many food allergies. I had gone without while they ate their fill more than once but I refused to complain.

Akin to kissing the cook, indirectly. Still, a little smooch wouldn’t hurt.

He is a teenager. Why is this a surprise? It is well known that teenagers have a Black Hole in the gut.
