    They do that for sure. My cat also sits on laps especially when the dog watches – sometimes when the dog goes away, cat also slips away.

    Jaws-of-Death, my 95 lb. pittie, wants to be a lap dog. But he can only put his head, which would rival an African lion’s in size, on my lap.

    My cat tries to do this with me. He sits on my husband’s lap and tries to make me jealous. He gets smarmy when it doesn’t work.

    a quick move or loud bark from Marmaduke and she will be bleeding, at least that’s how our cats react, claws digging in to get traction as they exit
