Old story If Bill gates was walking and saw $500 on the sidewalk would it pay for him to pick it up? No, because in the 5 seconds it would take he would earn $750.

That book is by Mika Brzezinski (known also for co-hosting on Morning Joe, and for positions on other NBC/MSNBC news shows). It was written for women in business.

If you own the company, you don’t really get paid.

The way parents should respond is not how most of them do or at least did when I was a child. Mine were the opposite, discouraging and belittling, traumatizing even, when it came to making my life better, or anything.. really. :’( I get so triggered lately. I am healing and could really use your prayers. Thanks.

Children who are belittled by his or her parents don’t grow up hating the parents but themselves. For people like me, scapegoated, the behavior follows us into every relationship because we don’t know how to maintain healthy boundaries and all we got was anger and criticism.

They show all the approval and affection we need, hunger for, to the Golden child while sneering or gloating in our direction when no one is around to see it.

When I was her age that $50/day would have been a fortune… today, not so much.

In the 70’s I only needed $20 a week for lunch and such. Tack on another 30 or 40 years and I needed $100 a week to get by. But then I earned a lot less money in the 70’s and now I get just a bit more. It’s all relative to where you live and work and how you spend your money…

$50 a day is a lot to a child Gracie’s age. I love her optimism.

Not a very high opinion of herself, or just age related?
