I love my fur kids but I try to be smarter if I can and if I really want to. I know, “not try but do” ( or whatever). There are times that the present satisfaction from lap fuss time exceeds the anticipated gains of various alternatives. After a time of consideration those weighted variables may perchance realign themselves and the cats could well go. How long until the eye of round exceeds the lap fuss joy in the eye of mind?

Rule of thumb. You cannot get up when there is a cat in your lap until said cat is ready to get up.

Well Dan, if those were your human children would you want her to just get up and disturb them from a peaceful nap?
Maybe you think it’s not a big deal, but wait until the middle of the night. Cats and babies have long memories when it comes to disturbing them.

Google “How to throw your voice and make a can opener sound.” That’s the only way I can think of to make the cat want to get up on it’s own.
