Closing remarks

Every grocery store here used to have a meat counter like the one in the strip. Not any more, though. Not a single store here has a meat counter where you can buy whatever amount of meat that you need. Now all you can get is pre-packaged meat, which is never in amounts that are suitable for single people like myself.

He’s about to find out that when he meets the meat meter that it won’t mete out the meat. (I’ll see myself out.)

I live near small town Indiana, both the grocery and the Walmart have a meat counter

i do miss the independent grocery in our old neighbourhood- they have a meat counter and good butchers. i particularly miss their al pastor taco meat.

When i was a kid in Chicago, all the grocery stores’ meat counters were union shops, and they all covered their coolers at quitting time. You could not buy meat outside of union hours, and there was no such thing as packaged meats. Shoppers had to pay close attention to the time.

Decide what you want before you get in line at the butcher shop. Please!

No cat, snake, or sea cucumber?
