Gym… like it or hate it?

Didn’t love it because I always was treated unfair. By on b*tch of a teacher specifically.

I was chubby, and of course the results I had in circuit training (excellent!) couldn’t be true in her opinion.

She couldn’t refuse to give me full points in breath-hold diving – full distance and the whole class witnessing. I even got applause.

She had forced me to to it despite the fact I had told her before that I wasn’t feeling well.

Well – I nearly died afterwards (got sick and collapsed), but instead of calling a med (she couldn’t reach my mother who had to do groceries – long time before cell phones!), I lay alone in a room (door closed) next to the gym where she completed class. Afterwards, she told another student to accompany me home. On foot. I could barely walk.

My mother immediately called an emergency med – I wasn’t pale as a sheet, I was greenish rather – who gave me a shot to stabilize me and gave me an appointment for a full check-up.

Low blood pressure, but that was it – and enough.

Suing the teacher? Back then? Here in Germany? A close relative to a prominent politician? – No way.

Wish schools would go back to lockers and kids just carried home a couple books. Might even eliminate knives and guns ending up on campus.

My grand kids, when in middle school had to lug a lot of books in their backpacks….even if they did not need them for homework???
