“Chocolate contains substances known as methylxanthines (specifically caffeine and theobromine), which dogs are far more sensitive to than people. Different types of chocolate contain varying amounts of methylxanthines. In general, though, the darker and more bitter the chocolate the greater the danger.
For instance, 8 ounces (a ½ pound) of milk chocolate may sicken a 50-pound dog, whereas a dog of the same size can be poisoned by as little as 1 ounce of Baker’s (dark) chocolate!"
NOT funny. Not at all. You KNOW how the internet is. Just even hint at a suggestion and some idiot will just have to try it and a whole bunch more will follow with disastrous results happening everywhere but to the idiots..
My first beagle, after she went instantly blind, managed to get herself on top of the kitchen counter while I was out, and there were chocolate brownies and chocolate chip cookies cooling. She had never even shown an interest in getting on counters before that. When I got home, most of the food was eaten, and she had jumped down. A quick feel of the belly told me which dog it was for sure. She did not have any symptoms at all, other than a lot of poop the next day, and it was normal. She had managed to get some small amounts of milk chocolate in the past, so I was mostly only concerned about the volume. Beagles are pigs. Like labs, but smaller.

Sorry, but this one is not funny to me. No joke.

Had a dog eat most of a bag of Hershey’s kisses, he ran back and forth through the house until it wore off. That was all that happened to him.
