Arlo hit it on the head. We reach the age where changes are hardly ever improvements.

I’m getting to be that “certain age”. One of the reasons I tell my kids not to grow up too fast, which in the days of instant this or that, is almost moot.

If my doctor calls with test results and I don’t answer everything is all right. Right?

You’re old when news or change doesn’t thrill you anymore to be part of it but makes you uncomfortable and lets you wish not to be bothered. Some people never grow old, some are old not even reaching twenty.

The funny thing is I’m seventy and I feel more like 39, and I’m not being conceded but people I meet always think I’m joking when I tell them my age, everyone always thinks I’m in my late 40s. Funny thing is I don’t know who my father is, my mom was raped and here I am. I would at least like to see the sobs picture.

Yet we all want to know the news anyhow.

When employers say “We are making improvements”, it means someone is losing their job.

My brother calls the round of medical updates at family gatherings “the organ recital”.
