Technically humans are an invasive species.

An annoying species that naturally lives adjacent to a particular space adds “invasive” to its description when it invades that particular space.

At least they’re not annihilating the local ecosystem like Burmese pythons.

    Or humans.

Sadly, each year thousands of exotic pets are dumped into our US environment. Actually that’s true around the world. Alligators, snakes, monkeys, birds, turtles, aquatic critters of all sorts (like octopi), large cats of all descriptions, bears, mink, etc. do NOT do well in captive circumstances – usually by outgrowing the captive environment or the capability of the owner to provide for its needs. Please consider this BEFORE buying an exotic pet, or indeed any pet.

Please, Folks, if you think the pet you acquired is not for you any longer, take it to a pet store or animal shelter. Donate it, if need be. Don’t just dump it, because dumping a living thing is cruel.
