I never really cared for the “U” or “R” being used to denote the word it sounded like, but it does show that spelling out the whole word is somewhat redundant when the one letter is the phonetics of the whole word.
My favourite is the word “queue”. The first letter is the sound of the word and the other letters are just lined up behind it. O<|]:o)
