I hate the sound of licking, smacking, eating… even when it’s me doing the eating. It drives me bonkers. I think there’s a name for that.

He usually falls asleep to the soothing sound of ball-licking and wakes up if the dog leaves the room.

Nonsense can be entertaining. We’ve all done it. It’s all about assigning “meaning” to it. Then abandoning that and on to another “meaning.” Each time if feels like deeper wisdom. The value of nonsense is causing people to think. Salvador Dali reveled in it. Some “great” poets have bragged about it while singing the praises of the thesaurus.
