Many years ago, during the Dark Ages, I was using a payphone to call Eastern Airlines to make a reservation. Un fortunately, I juxtaposed the numbers, and called the F.B.I. instead. Oops!
Working at Big Boy’s in the 60’s, our number was 1 digit from United Airlines. Ignoring the long “Thank you for calling Westgate Big Boy, may I help you”many people would try to make plane reservations. I had to fight the desire to set them up for them.
A co worker had that problem, kept getting calls for a restaurant that had similar number as hers. When her daughter answered one of these calls, she would just take their reservation.
Calls from the ISS come up as “US Government” on your caller ID. Have a friend who got a call from his astronaut friend who was up there. Apparently, the signal is a bit dodgy…some thing about orbiting the Earth at 17k mph.

My landline is one digit off of a skydiving school. Why anyone would jump out of a perfectly good airplane is beyond me. :)
