You knew from the get go she wasn’t talking about Fred. Fred has never been a nuisance. Annoying possibly but nuisance? Never.

She didn’t mention sausage thefts, so I knew it wasn’t about fred.

When you are happy with your spouse’s behavior, it is easy to forgive the little transgressions. If you are upset about something they have done though, all this resentment and garbage floats to the surface.

FYI, people often come to ME to complain about my husband’s behaviour… like I should be able to do something about it.

And, down at the pub, Blondie’s husband is telling his mates “Women are terrible. My wife can’t balance a check book, never fills the gas tank, she’s wrecked the car five times, spends more money than I make, the only thing she can cook is cabbage, banger or chips, and she always has a headache when I am in the mood and then complains that I don’t pay enough attention to her…”

We women knew immediately she was talking about Mr. Dear

Pretty obvious gag. But Fred’s expression at the end is a pretty good payoff.
