You’re better off shoving down the corner of their mouths. Then they can’t spit it out and are forced to swallow it. Of course, there is a chance of getting bitten if your dog is small and testy in nature. :)

Never say “There’s a pill in it.” They’re smarter than you think. I have to give my dog Trazodone for her anxiety twice a day. I hide it in her soft food. Can’t see it and eats every bit of it.

Our dogs will take your fingers with an offered treat of Kraft Singles cheese. Warmed between my hands, it becomes sticky enough to hold onto fairly large pills. Not recommended for dogs susceptible to pancreatitis. Here goes Sophie’s Apoquel now.

So true. Just say no. I’m surprised they don’t use dogs in anti-drug campaigns.

I had a dog learn to just go ahead and swallow the naked pill and I would give him a high value food as a chaser.

Stick the pill in a quarter of a hot dog wiener or a ball of cheese. They will often bolt it down without noticing the pill.

Giving a pill to a dog is much easier to giving a pill to a cat.
