Sorry – MUCH EASIER for husband NOT TO HELP with the housework.
Husband quit his job in his early mid 50s due to burnout. Just the explanations alone of “Why?” were enough to make me decide he did not need to help me – just give me time alone so I could get the housework done. (As I write this is it is 1:03 am on a Wednesday. I night – actually a Thursday am) doing the laundry in the basement while going on my comic strips I did not get to on Monday or Tuesday night.) He is upstairs on his desktop computer while I am in the kitchen on my laptop both because easier to run down one flight of stairs to change laundry loads than two and so that I get some time away from him! (And this latter was bad enough before Covid when I went out alone at least twice a month – once for my embroidery club meeting and once or more a month for work – now we are together just about 24/7/365 – though in September I started back to my embroidery club meetings.)
And most of the time – I would not have it any other way, though getting the housework done was a lot easier when he was out at work all day and I was on my own.
What a horror. She is doing housework because that is her JOB. She doesn’t work outside the home, or from home. He has a job, and it pays…..horrible woman.

And that’s why he never uses WD-40 on the door hinges to that room.

Good save, Ralph! Maybe she’ll insist you lay down on the sofa so that you don’t pass out.
