Y’know, research has shown that forcing your kids to eat things they don’t like is extremely detrimental to their development and is directly linked to eating disorders and distrust.
The fact that Andy cooks like this all the time KNOWING her kids don’t like it is actual abuse.
Why would she want to stall? I don’t think I’ve ever encountered ‘curried spinach’ specifically, but spinach in Indian food (palak paneer comes to mind) is wonderful.
I have never liked to eat limp, bitter greens, like turnip or spinach. I ate creamed spinach when my kids were little so that they could see that it is possible to eat things you don’t like. I do like it raw in a salad…
When growing up, our family served string beans called “snaps” and assorted leaf vegetables like kale, collard and mustard greens cooked in a ham seasoned broth. I never had spinach nor broccoli but I like them both now cooked but not raw.

Dramatic illustration of the awfulness of Andy’s cooking.

Gotta wonder if Andy has no taste buds or just never tastes her own food. If she likes it, that’s scary.

Why does she HAVE to eat it?

Well played Paige. Feed the mind. Better than poisoning the body.

She had me at spinach, but lost me at curry. Bleah.

No, thank you. Not a fan of curry.

Curried spinach might actually be good, with lots of cheese. Just skip the tofu.

I actually liked spinach when I was young. Don’t think I ever had it curried though.

I’m still holding a piece of broccoli in the back of my mouth since I was 6 years old.

Not if it becomes rancid when she finishes the last page.

Actually if Andy made an Indian Spinach curry called Saag, and did it right , it is delicious!

Phew! I was worried that they would take this out along with garfield classics.

Sounds good to me, especially if it’s in a cream sauce.

Andy will have to go to the bathroom at some point, at which time Paige can dump it in the garbage and say she ate it.

Curried spinach? That’s a crime against curry.

Curried spinach? Cruel and unusual punishment
