Never get in the way of kids on Christmas morning and NEVER stand between them and their presents.

Last Christmas I gave you my heart (Wham).

We were taught to open our gifts one at a time so we can all enjoy each other’s gifts. Merry Christmas!

With 7 children my parents needed some way to keep Christmas from being TOO crazy. Our rule was that we had to stay in our rooms until my dad gave the signal. My parents always set a very early alarm on Christmas morning. When they got up my dad would stand at the foot of the stairs and give a nice, deep, loud, “HO HO HO!” That was the signal. Once we heard that we could come into the living room & open presents. (What I wouldn’t give to hear that “HO HO HO” one more time; Dad died in 2020. He would always call us on Christmas morning to “HO HO HO” at us.)

For a minute, I thought it was a ham! Merry Christmas!

You think he’d learn by now not to stand right at the bottom of the stairs.

I mostly lament the loss of the coffee…

Maybe don’t stand directly between the kids and the presents, if you know they’re going to stampede?
