I thought he was gonna say he loved it despite not knowing how to play chess. I have have to admit I’ve seen some really nice chess sets that I would love to have but I don’t know the first thing about playing it.
The pieces and the board. . . . Is there anything else about it to love? Seems that’s kind of all there is to it. Though I suppose it might also include a carrying case or a clock or a book or something. (Frankly, if it were just pieces and a board, I’d feel pretty embarrassed to be giving it as a Christmas gift.)

I think the bigger question is how the kids feel about it. They’re not too keen on having to play with Roger.
