I adopted a one year old pound puppy in April 2018. The first year of her life was terribly harsh, both physically and mentally. It was nearly a year later before she greeted me that way as I came in the door. She is much improved now, but even today she still has nightmares from PTSD.
Conan greeted me with that same sort of flying tackle; at 80 pounds, it was no joke and came close to sending me flying more than once. A few hits and I decided we needed some obedience training so that he knew how to say “Hello” with his feet on the ground!

That is the best greeting anyone can ever receive. Puppy love is in a special category all by itself. It warms you all over.

As long as the run-up and launch was not through a puddle or mud.

He’s too big of a dog to be doing that.
