Well, that was a nice weekend break. Let’s check in on Cranky and see what he and hid buddies are…oh, my stars and garters, we’re still on this nonsense, aren’t we?
Just out of curiosity, are we supposed to believe that Mopey Pete is aware of his “silent partner’s” true identity, or that he thinks he’s going into business with an actual Pizza Box Monster? They’re all standing in front of a closed restaurant on a city street for a rendezvous that Pete seemed to arrange. There’s no one passing by, so is there some compelling reason PBM cannot remove the head-covering boxes to show Min-dull who he (or she) is and explain why they’re qualified for this business venture? Will he be signing the partnership papers “Pizza Box Monster”? Will Batiuk try to stretch out this “crust-thin” premise a whole second week? Can’t wait.
Good to see that Mindy at least is being realistic. If Pizza Clown hasn’t taken the boxes off by Wednesday she should just leave. No need to involve her in this disaster.
“Business Plan”? Yeah, his business plan is to reopen a pizza shop that failed the first time and do the exact same thing.
Hmm, maybe he won’t do the same thing. The pizza shop will change to become comic strip themed. Business will boom, millionaire status within two years!
I’m surprised no one (even me) pointed this out yesterday:
In Sunday’s strip, the colors are horribly wrong. Compare:
Weekdays, Pizza Box Monster is brown all over, with flesh-colored hands. Sunday, he was white-colored, including his hands.
Weekdays, Mindy’s jacket is grayish-blue. Sunday, it’s white.
Weekdays, Mindy’s purse is olive-colored. Sunday, light blue.
Weekdays, Mopey Pete’s jacket is green. Sunday, brown.
Weekdays, the curtain in Montoni’s window is white. Sunday, reddish-purple.
Weekdays, the glass window is clear. Sunday, dark blue.
Weekdays, the “Montoni’s” stencil is white. Sunday, it’s red.
Weekdays, the wall below the window is green. Sunday, it’s beige.
No, Batty Whack is not to blame for this, strange to say. The culpability lies strictly with the colorists, who cannot, apparently, be bothered to even TRY to get on the same page.
The folks who make up those “Spot the Differences” puzzles should sue for copyright infringement!

Ha ha! It’s funny because Mr. Reyonlds-Roberts acted like he cares about his not-fiancee’s opinion for thirty seconds!

Business Plan?……….Business Plan!………….We don’t need no stinking business plan.
This is Crankshaft, let’s not ruin a perfectly good comic with a business plan.

Apparently, “Hey, I’m totally open to any constructive criticism” means ‘any comment I already agreed with’…

What’s a more pathetic Halloween costume: This guy dressing up as a pizza monster or Tom Batuik dressing up Crankshaft as Funky Winkerbean?
