Michael, this tribute to the kind, gentle, and immensely talented Richard Thompson pulled at my heart. Richard once told me that I was one of his favorite practitioners of comics poetry. I’ve treasured that compliment to this day. His passing… such a loss.

Thank you for remembering Richard Thompson, whose wonderful, artful work is a treasure chest of hilarity. A true master, who stands with Schulz and the other greats of comics art.

Mr Thompson’s work is still the funniest work of genius on these pages. Others come close, some come very close and others need improvement. YMMV

Excellent tribute, Mike. Richard was a mastermaster and his work is as funny, poignant, brilliant and relevant today as it ever was. Gone too soon for sure, but what a legacy.
