C.S. Lewis is a fascinating writer and lay theologian whose works, like his friend J.R.R. Tolkien, can be read and interpreted on so many different levels. I was first introduced to his writing as a youngster, – not The Chronicles of Narnia or The Space Trilogy, which I didn’t read until I was in college.
The first book I read of Lewis’ was The Screwtape Letters. I have revisited these delightful, satirical essays several times as an adult and find them just as funny and thought-provoking as I did when I was a kid. Well worth finding a copy and reading.
