Equine inner conflict is a real thing. The human is terrified of them but, taking the cue from the ruling human that there is something to be feared, the horse sees nothing (at the moment) that directly frightens him (not knowing that is the horse himself that is feared), so….subsequently horse fears EVERYthing, just in case: survival depends on it.
