I guess I was pretty lucky. I never had to have stitches or had anything broken, but I did get a cut in my head when I was about 4, it bled like crazy and like to have scared my mom to death. It wasn’t a big cut but I’ve always bled profusely like that.
I remember when we went on vacation and only 1 out of 6 kids escaped injury – from bee stings to stepping in cactus to splitting open a head to getting an arm caught in an electric wringer washer. Ah, childhood memories!
In my photo album, I was probably three or a smidge older/younger than that. I got my head in a a rocking chair (through the part that connected the sitting area and the back rest). Dad was at work and Mom called a friend. The friend used his circular saw to cut that piece off. Now a few years ago, when my stepmother moved in, we got rid of that chair. I was hoping to put it in my own house someday.
Heck, my parents had an open account at the ER for my and my siblings. I did learn how to remove my own stitches, though. And yes, scalp cuts bleed like crazy for everyone.
my sister’s and I had a similar childhood! My sister tried chewing on our answering machine cord, I had almost drowned at a trip to the beach, My older sister broke her arm falling out of a tree, childhood is so great (^_^)

Aw, what are they afraid of? If they’ve made it this far, they could survive a nuclear war.

I had a pretty painless childhood, no broken bones or stitches or anything. My little brother, on the other hand, had his share and mine!
