I remember when Boston Pizza started. In a small town in Alberta. By a guy who had a dream of some day going to Boston, which is why the name. The chain is still going, and most of the time the food is pretty good, although I find some inconsistency between franchisees.
Another company that launched in the late ’60’s was Jon’s Pizzarama. It was a first for our region to have a sit-down pizza parlour with a liquor license. The sign for the restrooms was: “Jon’s Johns.”

When I was growing up we didn’t even have a pizza joint. (Until I was a teen)

I recently ate in a restaurant in Flagstaff that was celebrating 70 years in the same location and with the same name, a rarity these days.

Things change all the time, but the complaints are always the same.

Anybody remember the Pizza Inn chain? “If it’s pizza out, it’s Pizza Inn!”

There’s a pizza place about a mile from our house that’s changed ownership at least 3 times in the 7 years we’ve lived here.
