my sister-in-law nagged my brother-in-law over this a lot when they got married. until my brother-in-law put the seat down. ALL the way – not just the “ring”. I laughed about a week later when he told me she doesn’t complain about him leaving the “seat” up anymore. Apparently, she got up to go in the middle of a cold winter night and didn’t turn on the light, which ladies sometimes do I guess. The shock of the cold lid that was so cold it caused her to pee all over everything without a drop getting in the toilet. No more arguments.I’m just ornery – I told my wife, “Look before you pee, like you would anywhere else in the world and both of us will be happy.” She has, we are, and something that stupid never was a problem. OH, and she came from a family of 5 sisters and no brothers. My poor father-in-law.
Yet another good reason. You do know that if you INSIST on having the top down. Somebody is going to try to “thread the needle” and you’ll be sitting on that.

Fer cryen out loud, Jan. Learn to operate the toilet seat. If it is up, put it down. You don’t hear us complaining that you left it down, do you?
