Never in 50 years have I ever seen a nativity pageant at a public school. When I was growing up, I had Hindus, Muslims, Native American (animists) and Jews is my class – and that was just in elementary school. Why would we even think of performing a program highlighting one religion’s beliefs over the rest? What a stupid idea.I am a Christian and have not only performed in but written many Christmas pageants – but they belong in church, not a public school. I am getting very tired of this meme.
I don’t get this – not only is this way off schedule, but it is a tiresome plot line encouraging sanctioned religious bias in schools. If they can’t come up with a solution to such a simple problem then they should assign a more intelligent teacher to be in charge of the school play.
I am very confused. I thought Grease was replacing A Christmas Carol? Why is she looking at nativity costumes and sighing? I don’t remember a nativity scene in A Christmas Carol, though admittedly it’s been a while since I last read it.
And what religion is offended by A Christmas Carol anyway? It’s about ghosts, not God. Just call it The Scrooge Story, change the references to Christmas to “winter holiday” and bang, no more religion to be found.
I have known several people of different religious beliefs, but I have never heard one say they were offended by Christmas or any other religious holiday. I hope she disregards all the nonsense and puts on the play she wants to. By the way, when I went to school, part of the Christmas concert was the Nativity.
The problem with the Political Correctness agenda isn’t that it’s pro-everyone pro-everything – it’s that it’s anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-middle class, anti-male, and anti-caucasian. Took a comparative religion class in high school – Christianity was never mentioned except in regards to how much worse it was than all the other “nifty religions”.

There is so much WRONG with Xmas as a Christian holiday that it wouldn’t be worth it to begin…
