People can be rude. In variable people you have not seen in a long time, will say “You don’t remember me do you?” That really puts you in a bad position of lying and not remembering who in the world it is and making the person feel bad by not being remembered. Recently, the question was asked of me, and my reply was, “You are right it has been a long time. I don’t remember.” She laughed, introduced herself and I did remember – sort of.
Sadly, I remember the names of the bullies and those I didn’t like back in elementary and middle school better than I remember the ones who were my friends.
