Another attempt to make humans feel bad about themselves? From a geologist position, there is no global warming bc of humans. The ocean is a huge CO2 sink, and can absorb the excess, this can be verified by studying ice cores from the Artics, there were periods of time when CO2 was much higher than now and life on earth was stable and so were the ice caps. I am so realy to dump comics that try to make me feel bad about myself rather than make me laugh. Not what i read my comics for.
Hard to imagine a landscape capable of sustaining beasts as large as Mastodon’s that far North. If.. it was warm and lush up North wonder what the average temperature of the planet was then. And.. much like the penguins of the Antarctic, never having seen “man” are totally unafraid. Quite likely our early ancestors could walk up to these beasts and stab them with a sharp stick.

If it makes you feel any better, the same things will cause human extinction.

If the polar bear really is destined to become extinct, shouldn’t we at least have the fun of hunting them to extinction?
