A story I read had a scene in which two fellows from Central Europe visited Britain on business. One of them remarked on the bad weather; the other commented mildly that early March was said not to be the best season in England. (The phrase he actually used was “most salubrious.”) The first guy asked what was the good season.
“Someone told me once that it was August 23, if I recall correctly. But it may have been July 26.” — “The Red-Headed League” by Virginia DeMarce
Sounds very similar to the “lovely” weather in Central Florida today. Going to be like this ALL week! Very bummed out because many of us Floridians live for the Late Fall and Winter months when usually you can enjoy the outdoors.
That sounds like our weather, too. We’ve been overcast since Friday, with two days of slow drizzling rain … but I’m not complaining; we were far too dry beforehand and that soft, slow rain was just what we needed – it all soaked in!
