I prefer to think of a knight as moving one space forward, backward, or to the side and one space diagonally.
Verne the “Clay” you are trying to work with is not ready for use ;-)
I thought the knight moved one place diagonally and then one place either sideways or one place forward or backward.
Comes from the French word for knight, chevalier, which means “horseman.”
Sometimes it’s better to change your pawn to a knight.
Verne , You might (?) Have better luck teaching them Scrabble ! LOL
It’s better to have a horsehead on the chessboard than under your covers.
Verne, you shouldn’t explain chess to people like Hammy and RJ. They’re too intellectually challenged.
Wait till they object that the castle shouldn’t move at all.
They do tend to stagger.
Actually that does make sense…
Dear Michael Fry and T, we appreciate OTH and its creatures more every day!!!
When we were kids we played chess by putting the plastic pieces on our fingers and banging each other’s hands to try and knock the pieces off. Winner was the one with the most pieces left. The horses sat the tightest so they were the most desirable.
