My house is surrounded by woods. There are just too many leaves for mulch mowing them. I tried once and was left with a thick (1" – 2") blanket of chopped up leaves with no visible grass. I didn’t think it was good to starve the grass of sunlight.
I raked the majority of the leaves because the neighbor wanted them to cover her flower bed for the winter. The few that were left, I ran over with the lawnmower. Worked out pretty good. I didn’t have to take the leaves to the city compost site and my lawn needed one last cut before the winter anyway.
Got Gator blades on my mower. Really mulches leaves great. Take that, take that, you falling leaves. I love to see the trees this time of the year. But brings a lot of work.
It’s a good idea. Mulching is good and sucking up the leaves into the basket is a win/win. It’s what my gardener is doing before the winter comes in. Got to chock up this one for the Big Guy…..
when I got my 1999 exmark I liked it right away but it wasn’t until fall I fell in love with it as my favorite vehicle I have ever owned, and eclipsing my Low Rider was a high bar!
I did my last mulch of the front yard, yesterday. A little rain and a strong wind knocked down the last of the leaves making a final mulch necessary. Of course, using my trusty old Yard Man lawn tractor made the mulching so much fun.
Fall clean up outdoors is about the only time I am glad to live in a condo. They can worry about my lawn and the leaves and the huge leaves from the sycamore trees nearby. There is a reason the first syllable is “sick.”

Much better for the lawn.

With that face of Mother Gargoyle, you’d think that the leaves would “land” ……… somewhere else!!!

The mower also mulches the leaves, so more fit in the yard waste bin.

68 hp of leaf chopping satisfaction, 84" of destruction. It does nothing for the acorns though.

I was ecstatic when I figured this out years ago. Course I discovered it after buying a LT that could handle it.

My neighbor says that Maple Leaf mulch is the best for a garden, and can he mow my lawn and pick them up for his garden? Me: Help yourself.

With a mulching mower they disappear and fertilize the grass.

it’s a two in one job… and sides, won’t it get taken to the yard waste anyways. Plus it saves his back I’m sure. Take that you stoopid leaves! :D

If your mower has a mulching blade, “mowing the leaves” is easy!

I used a mulching mower because it feeds the lawn and I never had to collect the grass clippings.

That’s exactly what I do with my mulching lawnmower
