OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH! …… Xmas is only a week away already? Seems like I just finished digesting my Thankgiving turkey dinner only a day ago.

I’m afraid to blink my eyes and find it New Years Eve when I open them. This season is FLYING by!

She will be visited by 3 ghosts, to calm down.

Maybe our planet has started to rotate faster??!!

This is me!

I was like that at Katie‘s age. Actually, that was me up until about 20 years ago. I was just as excited about Christmas as long as my kids were still young. Christmas morning, I would be up by 4:30, and by 5 AM had the Christmas music playing, the tree lights on, the camera ready, and coffee brewing, then I’d wake them both up. After that, I raised my grand-nephews for a few years, so I still had wide-eyed, excited children coming downstairs Christmas morning.

I’ve never seen a kid so excited to get socks and underwear for Xmas.

Wish I still had that heady enthusiasm for the season. It’s still nice in its own way, but now, more like background noise. (Though caroles make for nice background!)

If she’s chewed a hole in the basement door, then at least Nick will be able to join in the family festivities,right?

She’s in for one heck of a post-Christmas crash. There’s nothing quite like watching a kid totally melt down once all the presents have been opened and the guests/family have left.

I was never like that. My parents were poor and my birthday is tomorrow…a week before Christmas. A double whammy of disappointment…for my parents who could not make a good Christmas for our family. So, I never celebrate my birthday, and Christmas is for children. I am good with that.

Maybe ’LOCK HER" in the basement…

Today is the day: 1 week ‘til Christmas, 2 weeks until New Year’s. Hard to believe 2023 is almost past.

Has she been drinking the special Christmas coffee?

It is hard for even kids to work up a last week frenzy when they have been bombarded with CHRISTMAS since Thanksgiving.

Well at least Nick has some company for a little while.
