I don’t know why this strip made me think of this, but when I was really young, I thought the name of the strip was “Charlie Brown”. I was shocked to learn it was called “Peanuts”.
The August 5 RICHARD’S POOR ALMANAC by Richard Thompson (on this site) has Shermy and Violet interviewed as part of a ‘documentary’ on PEANUTS. Violet rightly claims credit for originating material that was later given to Lucy Van Pelt.
