They don’t realize at this point just what a great comic character Charlie Brown is gonna become; so they can’t possibly fight over his money, yet!!
Years later, there’d be a song called “The Boy Is Mine.”
Peanuts did it first! This joke was done on The Simpsons, only it was Bart and Lisa fighting over who loved Homer more. “No, YOU love him more”
And so it begins, the decline of Charlie Brown.
I wouldn’t want him either.
Many years later, the Simpsons would do the same joke: Lisa and Bart arguing who loved Homer more.
Sigh. Too bad, Charlie Brown.
