Ugh, this is the worst part of sharing a kitchen, whether at work or with roommates. Clean up your own mess, people! In many offices, they’ll just throw it all away after a while. What a disgusting waste, just because people are lazy.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Friday! Have a great day, all!
One company had this issue and one of the employees decided on her own to dump the dirty dishes into the garbage. She was thanked for her action by management but was asked nicely to retrieve the dishes as they belonged to the company. Soon after this incident a sign was posted that any dirty dishes left at closing time would be removed from the lunch room and not returned or replaced. I guess everyone got the message as dishes were washed and put away every day after that.
How did it get to be Friday so soon? I guess I had better stop blinking.Have a fantastic Friday!
We had this problem at my job too in the kitchen and bathrooms. Once I came across a mess in the bathroom where water was left all over the floor. I assumed it was a kid, since we work with children. No, a coworker admitted to leaving the mess! Terrible!
Yup—a little extra effort from everyone could resolve kitchen situations like this one, couldn’t it?
On the upside, I’ve always liked the expression on comic Cathy’s face in the third panel … eyes crossed, lips tense, perhaps about to blow up? Take cover! Ha.

Just don’t let him make you wash them because you’re a woman!

The trick is to put only a very limited number of dishes in the break room. If you want a clean dish or cup, you wash it.

What is even worse is food left in the refrigerator…at one office I worked in, everything got tossed on Friday at 4:00. Seemed fair enough to me.
