Who made up those rules? Just ignore him, Cathy, you can talk to anyone you want. But there did used to be such a rule in the early 1800’s when Jane Austen was writing her books. If you were at a ball (female) and a man asked you to dance and you didn’t want to dance with him and refused him, you couldn’t dance anymore from that point on no matter who asked you. Who made up such a rule? Probably males who were upset about being rejected. This way you were forced to dance with him just so you could dance with someone better later on.
I’m with SnowBunny12. He is creepy and pushing himself on Cathy. I’d just leave (forget the biscotti… he’s probably think she owes him something for it).
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Friday! Have a great day, all!
And now you’re miserable. Next time, go ahead and reject him. No guy can tell you what to do, and his trying to belittle you and manipulate you is a huge red flag. Not to mention that those weird pants and the childish cap definitely add to the ick factor.
Nothing wrong with rejecting a guy on sight. Guys judge, select, and reject women based on their appearance all the time, and if “superior” males do it, wouldn’t the women just be imitating their “betters”?

He’s a psycho. Take his biscotti and leave.

He’s already violated the social contract, Cathy, and you have no reason to allow him to claim its benefits. Kick him to the curb.

What men call logic, women call being creepy. I say that because those lines never worked for me, either.

I find this amusing, given that Cathy came to the coffee shop hoping to attract a guy.

Cathy’s ‘No thanks’ was pretty clear. Definitely time to get rid of this guy.
Enjoy this fine Thursday.

If I were comic Cathy here, I’d roll up that Pet Press newspaper and use it as a form of self-defense—or offense, come to think of it …
