Look at those totals – geez! Diet soda is expensive (considering that’s ALL she seems to have in the fridge) !

We’re at 700 a month for the 2 of us. But there are health concerns requiring much protein.

Took me 2 1/4 hours in the store to get groceries yesterday! They’re rennovating the store, everything is moved, out of things, everything’s gone up, and they overcharged me twice so had to stand in line to get my refunds! Costs more than ever.

Very true these days. Pretty sad that people are struggling to feed themselves. Not sure if it’s from inflation or if that’s what corporations are using as an excuse to increase profits. I try not to buy too much processed food, but I see that many do.

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Tuesday! Have a great day, all!

Don’t speculate on expensive diet foods.

We spend about $1200 per month for food for the two of us – but that is heavy in fresh fruits and vegetables that cost way more than the processed varieties. We do avoid processed foods as much as possible and rarely eat breakfast or supper outside the home. We do donate money to our local food bank – they have over 400 families depending on them every month. In a town of 5000 people that is way too many. Somewhere we have gone wrong as a society when two people working still cannot afford to feed their family.

Ouch. Feeling a little heavy today. Let us hope the sunshine brings happier thoughts.

Most days it is politics, wars, people starving, etc., that hit me hard. But I had to go pick up some prescription refills, driving on the snow and ice that are making our roads very treacherous: I used the brakes very carefully when I had to slow down or stop, but the ABS still kept having to come on, and the wheels were locking up, and even when just driving at constant speed in a straight line the crown in the road pulled me over to the curb.

I have lived in the north, in Wisconsin, USA, for most of my 82 years, but this was the worst I have ever had to deal with despite officially being spring. I hope to get back to worrying about others (as my Lord says I should) when my heart beat recovers! We are regretfully also skipping orchestra rehearsal this evening.

Ya win some, ya lose some, but ya gotta eat, right? Always an uphill battle.
