Heard a beep I couldn’t locate, so I used a spectrum analyzer app on my phone and walked around until it was loudest. It was an alarm on a water sterilizer.
We just stayed at an AB&B where ALL the appliances made annoying sounds! And had the slowest coffee maker on the face of the earth! Other than that it was delightful!
AndI remember, as a lad (something in excess of five-and-a-half decades back, sigh) thinking it was sooooo cool that our new dryer (prior to that we used an outdoor clothesline; limited benefits when it was -30 or if the wind was blowing the wrong direction and we had a fire in the wood furnace, LOL) had a timer with a buzzer. All mechanical, simple tech…but for a ten-year-old, for some reason, it was magic.

My security camera makes a strange little beep during the middle of the night which usually turns out to be a cat or raccoon.

If she’s making a quesadilla, it’ll start to burn soon and then she’ll know for certain.

In Japan, many appliances actually speak in soothing voice rather than just beeping. It had been done that way for ages. This must be the reason.

Not a great house flag, but good enough, I suppose.

This is my house and it’s making me nuts. To top it off, I just bought a car that outbeeps the things in my house.

I once had to tear the house apart because some forgotten gadget was beeping. Either it was a long-forgotten alarm, or low battery.

I’ve never once left my refrigerator door open without knowing it. People must be very absent minded to do that.
