Flip phone, also. Texting, phoning, and take TONS of pictures! Twenty sunrise photos and a dozen of our 10-year-old sleeping (when he’s at his best-behaved).
Even my flip phone has lots of functions. I don’t understand all I know about them. Didn’t get a function manual.
I bought a $600 washing machine and it has no real manual. I checked online and all I can find are generic descriptions of Functions-of-GE-washing-machines-which-may-or-may-not-be-available/work-the-same way as described.
That was my first thought – a new phone that came with a manual???? Rather rare that.
Now that both my daughters – and son-in-law and grandson – have all left the house is so empty I had to escape to my computer and catch up on the comments. We received our first Christmas card today thanks to the almost over postal strike (they were legislated back to work) and it had a newsletter in it. Finally things getting back to normal.
It is NYE on the lake here again. I will be heading down to the beach shortly to set up the fireworks packs I purchased for the event. Since it is so mild here (hardly any snow left now after the above freezing temperatures all week) it should be quite the spectacle with several kilometers of fireworks all around the bay. Fortunately there is still ice alone the shore (the ice melted out in the center of the bay where it was still quite thin) so I have lots of room to set the packs and run to a safe distance. I am protected by the retaining wall in case a pack falls over like two did last year.
Happy New Year’s Eve everyone. If you are leaving the house this evening please take care and stay safe.

I just looked it up, and the most commonly used smartphone functions are:
Photography (83%)
Internet surfing (76%)
Navigation (73%)
E-commerce/online shopping (71%)
Social media (67%)
Music/podcasts (66%)
Making and receiving phone calls wasn’t even on the list.

On the one hand, I kinda see Dad’s point here, about wanting to know what all the new phone can do.
On the other hand, something can be said for just jumping into new technology. Incoming …
