Where I am, in DC, we’ve had more snow than we’ve had in ages. Thankfully I still have my lace-up snow boots from L. L. Bean I got as a holiday present several years ago. They’re not suede, but a weather resistant fabric. The only gripe I’ve got against them is I often need to re-tie the laces. But they’ve been serving me well. Thankfully, it’s going to warm up this coming week before it gets cold again. It’s like we say around here, “If you don’t like the weather around here, wait a while”.
If I see an otherwise attractive woman with a grimace, I look at her shoes. If her shoes do not fit or are inappropriate for walking and emergency running, her life is out of joint. Shabby, well-fitting shoes and a relaxed gait indicates someone who will never expect me to carry them. :)
I am glad, being male, I never have to wear boots for style but for warmth, dryness, and comfort.
Finally warmed up a bit here. My sympathies to those living in more southern latitudes that are experiencing such cold temperatures. At least we are prepared for them since we do get many super cold days every year.
Back to the era of super popular Air Jordan’s…..many students would wear their older Jordan’s to school. After arrival the would open a plastic bag & then put on their latest Jordans to wear doing the school day. At the end of the school day the student would reverse the process & place the “new” in the plastic bag & wear the “old” home.

I bought a bathing suit once from Sears that said “dry clean only”

As we say in Florida, “If you don’t like the weather around here, get Moms for Liberty to ask Ron DeSatan to ban it.”

I could try to make sense of their [lack of … ] logic, but when in doubt? Go for a big, giant (◔_◔). Ha.

He’s got that right. The price of boots today forbids ever getting them wet.
