That’s one thing that hasn’t changed- customer service.

Yep, should phrase it, “Customer? No service!”

Top lie used to be “The checks in the mail” Now it’s “Your call is very important to us”

It’s worse when it happens with a live person in a store.

“We are experiencing higher than expected call volumes” – right. Every time I call your company I get the same message. Maybe you should set your expectations (and employee numbers) for more calls – like from people who cannot possibly follow our poorly designed websites. And there is my rant for this gloomy Sunday.

I hope you are enjoying this weekend – especially for those like me who are having a long weekend.

Your call is important to them, but talking to you, not so much.

I’d been trying for ages to talk to someone at my US-based bank (I live in Mexico). I was so thrilled when I was finally connected with a real customer service person, who was able to answer my questions, más o menos.

I must say: I did not see this punchline coming. I can relate all too well, too, after my numerous adventures with “customer service” (emphasis on the quotes) …

HI, MOM. Happy Late Sunday, “Cathy” Clan.

“Higher than expected call volumes” means they only have one person answering phones and they are at lunch.
