When a particular year comes up I google it and see what Wikipedia has to say. A lot was happening in 1973 which I had forgotten all about, Watergate was ramping up and the Vietnam War was ramping down, Yom Kippur War…to name a few. We thought Vietnam would never end and had no idea the Nixon would be forced to resign.
